Information about S/MIME certificates for personal mailboxes or group mailboxes:
Due to requirements from our S/MIME certificate provider, only S/MIME certificates with a 4096-bit key are now issued. Technically, these certificates can not be stored on the TPM chip on which our virtual smart cards (VSC) are located.Provisioning via the “Smart ID Desktop App” therefore does not work. A new S/MIME certificate must be ordered and issued separately.
